This is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in the country, surrounded by an exuberant tropical dry forest. Playa Conchal has also an estuary and mangrove ecosystem. The north section of this 2 km long beach is completely covered by the fragments of sea shells, which gives it its name and makes it a unique place. A rich marine life is easily visible with some water goggles, living in a nearby coral reef. You can observe different species of tropical fish as well as stingrays and eels.
Punta Conchal (Conchal Peak) creates a natural border between Playa Conchal and Playa Brasilito. This small peak can be crossed easily, mainly because there is a rustic trail for visitors. From here you can observe a panoramic view of the coast and its crystalline waters.
