The dryer Guanacaste coast is for sun lovers and contains the majority of large chain properties. But the smaller towns have a lot of charm and as you go further south onto the Nicoya Peninsula the vibe changes to a more casual vibe and the weather gets more tropical. Samara and Tamarindo are some of the principal towns of interest to LGBT travelers.
